The Newark Community Economic Development Corporation

The Newark Community Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is responsible for starting a building revolution in the city of Newark, New Jersey. Newark is a large urban city that once was a thriving town with plenty of residents and business industries. However, the economic downfall hit the city hard. Residents and industries left the city. The CEDC was created to attract new residents and industries back into the largest city in New Jersey. Their only objective is to create economic growth for the city of Newark, New Jersey, while focusing on bringing a stronger minority business presence into the city.

CFO Kevin Seawright
The CFO of the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation is Kevin Seawright. The CFO is a great leader in the industry and enjoyed a successful career in government, real estate, and education before moving to the Newark, New Jersey area. This successful leader believes strongly in giving back to the community. Via NJBiz, this is evident in his participation in the community. He is involved with the Babe Ruth Foundation and coaches a local youth sports team. He is also a member of the American Society for Public Administration, the National Forum for Black Public Administration, and the National Association of Black Accountants.
