Andy Wirth and two of his friends are about to compete as a relay team in an IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon race, but Andy had bigger challenges in his life and managed to come out on top. A passionate skydiver, Andy Wirth almost had his right arm completely severed from his body by being forced to land in a vineyard during bad weather conditions, whereby he hit a pole. With the support of his family and friends, occupational therapists, and a few remarkably talented surgeons, Andy got his arm back. But in his training process to get his body and spirit back on track, he got some unexpected help from a group of US. Navy SEALs who were having their winter combat training in town at the time. They became close and their spirit and guidance helped Andy on his journey to become whole again. Andy decided to honor his Navy SEAL friends and all those who have served and currently serve the country by organizing a fundraiser and generating support for the Navy SEAL Foundation. We all know the superhero Ironman and how he was assembled almost like a robot and our hero Andy had some assembling with his right arm as well. In the IRONMAN race, Andy will push his body to its limits to fight for a greater purpose that extends beyond the finish line. However, unlike the superhero Ironman, Andy is all human and he shows it by caring about those who give life and limb on the frontlines and of whose heroic acts we know very little about. The Navy SEALS deserve our support, as well as their families, so it is up to the rest of us to show them that they have someone caring for them and watching their backs back home. So, support the US. Navy SEALS by supporting the real Ironman Andy Wirth and his fundraiser.
