It has been two years since that fateful day in Boston where three people died and over 200 others were seriously injured near the finish line of one of the most prestigious races in the world. This year Rebekah Gregory, who had lost a part of her leg in the incident has returned to the marathon and crossed the finish line.
According to an article found on reddit and written by ABC news.com, Gregory had some trouble shortly into the race where her prosthetic knee gave in and she couldn’t get up as quick as she used to. I can imagine that experiencing something like this after being involved in a terrible home grown terrorist attack can be over whelming, but at least she was able to prove herself to everyone that just because she is now an amputee, does not mean that she can’t live the same life that she once had before the Boston Marathon bombing,
Gregory has had it pretty rough since her attack two years ago she has had to train her muscles at least every day for about 60 minutes or so just to keep her limbs strong according to physical therapist Gianfrancesco Genoso on Teses.com. Of course she goes above and beyond that so that she can also remain an athlete, but she will make a great success story one of these days. In fact, she is already a huge success story as she has finished the race that hurt her in 2013.
