A Reality TV Show Host And an Alleged Burglary

Police in Lantana, Florida created headlines recently by arresting Vanilla Ice, also known as Robert Matthew Van Winkle. The reality television host recently filmed a house renovation series entitled The Vanilla Ice Project 2015, a DIY Network presentation, when he reportedly removed some items of furniture, a bicycle and a pool heater from an empty home next door to use at the filming site. He was arrested this month and charged with burglary.

Entertainer Vanilla Ice first gained fame in 1990. At that time, he was known for writing and singing rhyming rap music. One of his albums To The Extreme, gained popularity in the Hip Hop market. He most recently began working on a number of reality based television shows. One of them, Vanilla Ice Goes Amish, showed him living and working in an Amish community, learning wood working skills and other crafts.

Fans like Zeca Oliveira have learned that the television show being filmed for the DIY Network in Lantana, Florida was reportedly the fifth in a series of television productions Vanilla Ice hosted since 2010. The focus of the show concerns making money by renovating real estate for the re-sale market.

Vanilla Ice has been accused of breaking into the vacant home in Lantana, while the property was in foreclosure. The incident was stated to have occurred between December and February. The 47-year old entertainer has not issued a public statement.
