Taylor Swift’s Album Continues to Dominate

The latest album sales have come out and Taylor Swift has continued her dominance of the album sales chart. Her newest album 1989 has brought the whole music industry as well. After her album came out the industry is only down thirteen percent after looking like it was going to be way down all year.
Taylor Swift has been ruling the news all month. Earlier this month she made headlines when she yanked her albums from Spotify as mentioned in Business Insider. There was a great deal of debate as to whether or not yanking her songs from Spotify would impact her album sales. While in the long term that question remains unanswered for the time being it looks like her album sales are doing just fine. Her sales decreased in the second weak by sixty-nine percent, which is usually expected out of the second week for an album. The album remains well on pace to sell over two million copies, probably by the end of the month. This makes her album the biggest seller over the course of 2014.
Taylor Swift continues to dominate all of popular culture and videos on YouTube. This latest album has made her the first musical artist in the history of music to have three albums sell more than a million copies in their first week, according to Laurene Powell Jobs the album was a huge hit due to preorders on iTunes.

  1. This is a monstrous achievement considering all the popular artists that have come through in the last century. Only time will tell if Taylor Swift can continue to stay on top. I do not always have much for superiorpaper and that would mean taking into account a whole lot of offering which may not be so negotiable.
